What shape are you in?
Many of us don't know the answer to that question until we do something more strenuous than we do on a normal basis. The simple act of walking a flight of stairs, running to catch a bus, or even dancing at a party can be very telling. Sure the mirror and the scale also provide some valuable feedback, but they don't always tell the whole story. You may be thin, and appear to be healthy, when in fact, you are not in the best shape. It is recommended that adults get a minimum of 30 minutes of moderate activity at least five days a week. That means, taking walks, riding a bike, or participating in low impact exercise. Many of us are not even getting the minimum, and we aren't aware of just how deconditioned we are, until we have to do something that over-exerts us, and then it becomes clear.
Maybe you haven't put yourself to the test in a while, and therefore may not know how bad it has gotten. This is no reason to be afraid of what you may find. Finding out now could give you the push you need to get your groove back. On the other hand, you may find that you're not as out of shape as you thought you were, and for that matter, may be able to catch it before things get too far out of hand. Either way, taking our 10 minute fit test should give you the answer, and you can decide what to do from there. Good Luck!
